Sometimes families may like to have a meal together, watch a movie or play a game. The Woltz Hospice Home offers not one but two family rooms for this purpose. The rooms have cable TV and computers for those times when communicating with family may require the internet. With full kitchens available the smell of cookies baking is not uncommon as families make use of these rooms.
For our young visitors The Woltz Hospice Home has a children’s playroom decorated in the circus theme that will make even the young at heart want to stay and play a game. The Children’s Playroom is great for those times when children don’t need to be at the bedside.
The spa room is equipped with a special tub that allows patients that enjoy a relaxing spa type bath. This tub will accommodate even those patients who can no longer get out of bed or walk alone.
Sometimes a patient may need to have their hair trimmed or shampooed and set. The Spa room is perfect for this as it is also equipped with a complete beauty solon style wash basin and chair.
When some time to reflect is needed, one may consider the chapel ad their place of refuge. With movable chairs, stain glassed window, piano and organ, this room can serve as a place for private mediation or for small groups. Sometime you may even hear the sounds of the piano as a family or volunteer shares their talent.
What better way to relive memories than to visit a place from the past? The Soda Shop was designed for just this purpose. You can visit the soda shop to purchase an ice cold coco cola in a glass bottle and may even find a moon pie. Set back and listen to the music from the small juke box, and visit with friends to talk about old times. The nostalgic room will take you back to a time of wonderful memories.
At The Woltz Hospice Home, the belief is that families should spend time making memories instead of being sad. Visit the theatre room with your family by bringing a home movie to enjoy together or just watch a movie on the large flat screen television from one of the many cable channels available. If volunteers are available, they sometimes open the soda shop and pop popcorn to help the memory be more enjoyable. Don’t forget to lay the recliner back, so that you can get the full theatre effect.
